We can now
see salmon passing the echo sounder beam. The beam coverage has been about 50% of the water column until
2007-07-13.
Because of
the poor coverage percentage we don’t present any number of salmon passing down
stream this year.
From
2007-07-13 a second
transducer is installed and new settings for the old transducer gives more
accurate data and now we estimate that the beam coverage is 80% of the river
cross section, together with the leading fences.
From
2007-07-30 the
second transducer was uninstalled. The beam coverage is from this point 50% of
the water column.
The monitoring will be ended at Muonioriver 2007-08-27.

From
2007-06-26 at 13:00 the equipment is registering passing salmons.
2007-06-19
Because of
the special environment conditions at the site in Muonio River we have to adapt
the equipment to the conditions at this site. And we are now working together
with the manufacturer to solve the problem.
2007-06-13
The
monitoring is started, the beam covers 60% of the river.
2007-06-05
One
transducer is installed at the Swedish side of the river, but not on the exact
position. The transducer at the Finish side of the river tilted because of the
fast stream and high water level.
2007-06-04:
Installation
of power cable is done.
2007-05-20
to 2007-06-01 High water level makes the work with the installation of any
equipment in the river impossible. Service of the equipment has been done
during this time.
